Lainey Wilson Hints at Upcoming Duet, but She’s Keeping the Singer a Mystery: “They Gonna Slap My Hand”

While it took Lainey Wilson years to break into the music industry, she is wasting little time taking over country music. It doesn’t matter which country music station you listen to, Wilson is sure to be on the playlist somewhere. With songs like “Heart Like a Truck” and “Wildflowers and Wild Horses”, the rising star gained not only fame but more than a few awards. Having been named the Entertainer of the Year in 2023, the hitmaker recently teased fans with a duet that featured an unknown artist.

Throughout her time in the spotlight, Wilson found a great deal of success when working with other artists. She worked with Miranda Lambert, Wynonna Judd, Keith Urban, HARDY, Anne Wilson, and even Dolly Parton. Having rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in country music, Wilson looked to add another name to her list.

Helping host the Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton, the singer shared few details about what she was working on. While promising new music in the future, she remained quiet about the who, what, when, and where. Instead, she said, “I can’t tell you right now! They gonna slap my hand. It’s a quick turn around.  Somethin’ I’m proud to be a part of and somethin’ I’ve not done.  It’s real cool. I’ll tell you after we’re done.”

The One Singer Lainey Wilson Loved Working With

Although working with big names, Wilson loved nothing more than her time with Jelly Roll. Also climbing the ranks of country music, Jelly Roll used not just his voice but honesty to grow a massive fanbase. And with each new release, that fanbase grows.

Working with Jelly Roll on the hit song “Save Me”, Wilson recalled what it was like to spend time in the studio with the singer. “I did a few takes and after each one, Jelly stood up behind the glass, all hype, talking about how much he loved it and pumping me up before the next take. He has this way about him where he can encourage vulnerability and feeling just through his genuine excitement and the way he lifts you up.”

Knowing the importance of secrets, only time will tell which star Wilson decided to add to her growing list of collaborations.
