This Sunday (February 9), millions of people will tune in to watch Super Bowl LIX. However, not everyone will be watching purely to see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Some will be watching the Super Bowl to see if their prop bets will pay off.

Betting the over/under or the spread on the big game is only part of the gambling that will be happening this weekend. Some will place prop bets on things only tangentially connected to the Super Bowl including whether Travis Kelce will pop the question and what Kendrick Lamar will perform during the halftime show.
Wild Super Bowl Prop Bets That Have Nothing to Do with the Game
Plenty of prop bets for this year’s Super Bowl have to do with who scores when, who wins, how many points fall get scored in a single quarter, and so on. However, those who don’t know much about football can still open their favorite sportsbook app and put money on some of the pop culture aspects of the big game.
For instance, those who are looking to put money on blind luck can bet on the opening coin toss. While one could study how often the coin lands on heads or tails during Super Bowl coin tosses—it lands on tails more than half of the time. But that doesn’t matter. Betting on the coin toss is all about being lucky.
Those who want to take a bit of a safer wager could bet on how long the national anthem performance will run. One sportsbook is offering an over/under of 120.5 seconds. New Orleans native Jon Batiste will perform the anthem to open the game. He usually finishes the song in well under two minutes, according to Sporting News. So, betting the under on this one feels safe.
Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show setlist is still under wraps but that won’t keep some fans from betting on it. Some sportsbooks are allowing fans to bet on which song K Dot will play to open his set. Additionally, fans can bet on how long his performance will run and how many songs he’ll perform.
Yes, fans can actually bet on whether or not Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift at the big game.
Additionally, fans can put money on what color the Gatorade that gets poured over the winning coach’s head will be.
These prop bets are a great example of why Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest betting days of the year.
