Keith Urban Receiving the Triple Crown Award at 2025 ACM Awards

Outside of marrying Nicole Kidman in 2006, Keith Urban’s rise to fame happened when he broke into country music during the 1990s. Known for hits like “The Fighter”, “You’ll Think of Me”, and “Somebody Like You”, the country singer not only took over airwaves but caught the attention of fans. Just last year, he released his twelfth studio album with High. And 2025 will mark another historic year for Urban as the ACM Awards will honor him with the Triple Crown Award.

While many know the Triple Crown as the racing milestone where a horse wins the Belmont Stakes, Preakness Stakes, and the Kentucky Derby. Although right, the ACMs have their own Triple Crown when it comes to country music. For those singers who want to gain the achievement, they music win New Artist of the Year, the Entertainer of the Year, and the Artist of the Year.

Keith Urban Joining Country Icons At 2025 ACM Awards

Although having an entire career to cross the milestone, only a few singers have achieved such a feat. During the celebration, Urban will join the ranks of singers like Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Brooks & Dunn, and country legend himself, George Strait. The last singer to win the Triple Crown happened back in 2010 with Carrie Underwood. This year, Luke Combs could add his name to the list if he were to win the Entertainer of the Year Award. 

As for Urban, the special celebration will focus on his long career in country music. And no music event would be complete without some great singers. Bringing out Chris Stapleton, Brothers Osborne, and Megan Moroney, the stars will take fans on a trip over Urban’s career that has lasted over 25 years. 

While a special night for Urban, the ACM Awards are also make history as it will mark the 60th anniversary. Taking over the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, the 2025 ACM Awards will welcome country superstar Reba McEntire, who is also a Triple Crown winner, to the stage as host. Don’t miss the 2025 ACM Awards, airing on May 8th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Prime Video.
