Longtime Jelly Roll fans were likely excited to see his name on the list of The Carter VI features. Before he ever considered going country, he was a hip-hop artist. So, some may have believed that he was going to go back to his roots on “Sharks.” However, that wasn’t the case. Instead, Jelly Roll operated as the Nate Dogg to Wayne’s Warren G, singing the song’s hook while Wayne and Big Sean rapped the verses. Listen to the collaboration below.

Jelly Roll Has Big Plans

Appearing on Lil Wayne’s new album is just the latest in a long list of wins for Jelly Roll. However, he isn’t content to rest on his laurels. Instead, the ambitious rising star continues to dream big. During a recent performance at Nashville’s first-ever PRCA rodeo, the “Save Me” singer announced he wouldn’t perform in Nashville again until 2027. His hometown hiatus is part of his next major goal.

Nashville’s Nissan Stadium is getting a facelift and will be open for business again in 2027. During the concert, Jelly Roll informed fans that he wants to be the first artist to perform at the new stadium when it opens.

“I want to be the first act to play Nissan Stadium when it opens in the spring of 2027,” he said. “I never thought I would make it here, I never thought I would sell the Bridgestone out. We sold the Bridgestone out three times now, two times in the last five months. In 2027, Nissan Stadium, please let the local boy live a dream and open up the new stadium,” he added.
