Jacob Uitti

Senior Writer

Jake Uitti is a Seattle-based writer from Princeton, New Jersey. The son of two French professors, Jake grew up with tomes of French literature around the house, but over the years he discovered that heartfelt music, compelling conversation, and a good meal were his true loves. Today, Jake lives in the Emerald City with his musician and radio host wife, Eva Walker. They are considering getting a dog. One time, the couple stood in line for artisan doughnuts at 10 in the morning, and it was really worth it. A mixture of coconut and sesame seed, the doughnuts were excellent. Jake's work has appeared in Vanity Fair, The Guardian, The Nation, Interview, and more publications. He is also the author of a new NBA memoir with former star point guard Muggsy Bogues. For nearly five years, Jake has been with American Songwriter where he has proudly watched the magazine grow. For the outlet, he has talked with big names like Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and Jennifer Hudson. All of this is a dream come true.
