Cody Johnson Postpones Multiple Tour Stops Due to Illness that Caused “Loss of Voice”

Cody Johnson is currently on the fall leg of his Leather Tour. This leg of the trek kicked off on August 2 at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Arkansas. It will keep him on the road until December when he’ll wrap the tour with a two-night stand at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. For now, though, illness has sidelined Johnson, forcing him to miss at least two shows.

Johnson’s team announced the bad news on social media yesterday (September 18). “Due to illness over the past several days which has unfortunately resulted in a loss of voice, Cody Johnson’s shows in Charlotte and Charleston this weekend will be postponed,” the post read. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.” He was originally slated to play in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday (September 20) and in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday.

At this time, Johnson doesn’t have makeup dates set for the shows. Instead, the post urged fans to “stay tuned” for more information about the rescheduled shows.

“Hey COJO Nation, updated on this weekend’s shows in Charleston and Charlotte. I’m down about it and hope y’all understand,” the country star wrote in the post’s caption.

Cody Johnson Fans Have Plenty to Look Forward To

Cody Johnson fans have more to look forward to than news on his rescheduled tour dates. After months of teasing the release of “I’m Gonna Love You,” a collaboration with fellow country star Carrie Underwood, Johnson has finally set a release date for the track.

Earlier this week, Johnson took to social media to share a photo of him and Underwood leaning on a rail fence with mountains and prairie land in the background. “Thrilled to announce that ‘I’m Gonna Love You’ is coming out next Friday 9/27,” he wrote in the post. “Thank you Carrie Underwood for joining me on this one and making it so special. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” he added.

On Monday (September 16), Johnson shared a snippet of the song with his fans on Twitter. However, the 35-second preview didn’t include Underwood’s vocals.
