Yesterday, January 21, the former Police frontman, Sting, canceled three of his upcoming shows and a guest appearance. Prior to the cancellation, he promised to appear at the Bass Magazine Awards at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California on Thursday. Furthermore, the bassist had also scheduled shows in Phoenix, Arizona, Wheatland, California, and at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th Anniversary show.

Sting and his team announced the news in the form of an Instagram post, in which they wrote, “On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 concerts.” Per these comments, it’s unclear what illness the musician is suffering from.
Given the rescheduling of these shows, ticket holders will be able to retain their tickets for the newly scheduled shows. Although, it is unclear if they are refundable. The post stated, “Fans should retain their tickets for the postponed shows, as they will be honored on the new dates.” The post concluded, “Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding.”
Sting & Sting 3.0
For those of you unfamiliar with the group, they are is a trio that plays both original Sting music and some Police classics. Featuring the man himself, Dominic Miller, and Chris Maas, the band is currently on their world tour which is set to conclude on November 23, 2025, in Gary, Indiana.
These postponed dates might seem like a lot, however, it is a mere snippet of what is to come. Some of the highlights of their tour include a four-night stint with Billy Joel and an extensive European track. Lastly, Sting also announced that he would perform at the FireAid benefit concert on January 30.
Regarding the last claim, it is unclear if he will perform at the FireAid benefit concert. If he does, the company joining him includes Joni Mitchell, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Gwen Stefani, Green Day, and so many more. Sting will surely announce his participation in due time, so keep your ear to the ground and your eyes peeled.
