The outing, which is plotted out through a November 22 show in Houston, currently features 25 confirmed dates. It includes one show north of the border—a September 19 performance in Toronto. The tour will feature multiple legs, and additional concerts will be announced in the coming weeks.

Both Los Lobos and X feature all of the members of their classic lineups. The tour will see the bands visit cities where they’ve never performed together before.

Statements from Los Lobos and X Members

Los Lobos singer/multi-instrumentalist Louis Perez Jr. and X frontwoman Exene Cervenka and have both issued statements about their co-headlining tour.

“48 years is a long time. 51 years, even longer,” Perez said. “But 99 years combined is an insane number for two rock and roll bands and with the same lineup? Unheard of. That’s what we got going this year when Los Lobos team up with our good amigos X for our very first American tour together. Sounds like a celebration and everybody is invited.”

Added Exene, “This is a dream come true for me. We’re taking the ’70s & ’80s punk roots of LA both East and West all over the country. TOGETHER! 99 years and still going strong. Let’s have a party!”

More About X

X continues to promote what it says is its final album, Smoke & Fiction, which was released in August 2024. The band’s concerts will feature a career-spanning set of tunes, including selections from Smoke & Fiction and X’s 2020 album, Alphabetland.

X recently debuted an animated video, narrated by Exene, that tells the story of how the band came to record its popular 1984 cover of the 1966 Troggs hit “Wild Thing.” You can check out the clip at X’s YouTube channel. A limited-edition 12-inch vinyl picture disc of X’s version of “Wild Thing” will be released on June 20, and can be pre-ordered now.

Before the tour with Los Lobos, X will be performing on the inaugural Little Steven’s Underground Garage Cruise. The nautical rock festival will run from May 9 to May 13. The cruise will embark from Miami and visit Nassau in the Bahamas before returning to port.
