Hayley Williams Kicks Disruptive Fans Out of Paramore Show: “That’s Not Happening Here”

Paramore is currently on tour in support of their latest album, This Is Why. During a show at Madison Square Garden, frontwoman Hayley Williams had to lay down the law when two attendees got testy with each other.

A TikTok user accidentally captured the moment while recording the band performing a cut from This Is Why titled “Figure 8.” Everything seemed to be trekking on as usual when one attendee bumped into another, sparking a tiff. The rest of the crowd started pointing at the disturbance, asking for the band to handle the situation.

“Bullshit,” Williams said once she noticed the fight. “Fuck you! Also, do I see, like…what is happening? Yes, I will embarrass both of you. Both of you need to find somewhere else to take care of that shit because that’s not happening here.”

The band will remain on this tour for the majority of the summer. They will play MSG again tonight (May 31) before heading over to Washington, D.C. Other stops along the tour include Cleveland, Toronto, Orlando, and Manchester Tennessee’s Bonnaroo festival. Find their full tour dates, HERE.

Paramore made their long-awaited return earlier this year with the release of This Is Why. Prior to releasing the anthem-laden album, the group hadn’t shared new music since 2017.

“We want to discover new things and figure out who we are today,” Williams told American Songwriter of the project. “Sometimes that conversation is really stressful—because of expectation and projection—and sometimes we are energized by a freedom to go in whatever direction we want.”

She continued, “This album is a primal scream into the void. I am constantly both energized and terrified of survivalism. In some ways, that can help you find your people, fight injustices, or help push the world forward, but at the same time, it’s a really terrifying notion.”
