How to Livestream the National Memorial Day Concert – Featuring Jo Dee Messina, Trace Adkins

The National Memorial Day concert is returning to PBS Sunday night (May 28). The event will feature the likes of Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, the War and Treaty, Megan Hilty, John Slattery, Dule Hill and Mary McCormack, Yolanda Adams, and Phillip Phillips along with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jack Everly.

Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise will host the special from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The 90-minute broadcast will honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the armed forces.

“We are proud to continue this national tradition on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol that brings us together as one family of Americans to support our heroes and remember the more than one million Americans who have given their lives for our country since the dawn of the republic,” said Executive Producer Michael Colbert in a statement.

How to Stream the National Memorial Day Concert

The concert will air on PBS Sunday, May 26 from 8 to 9:30 pm ET. An encore of the show will air directly after the first showing at 9:30 pm.

The show will also be streamed live on the National Memorial Day official website and on the Capital Concerts Youtube channel simultaneously. Anyone who misses the original broadcast of the show can catch it anytime from May 28 to June 11 on both streaming services.

What is in Store?

On top of the performers listed above, the show will feature several segments.

The “Paying Tribute to Gold Star Families” segment will tell the story of three generations of Gold Star families who carry the pain of having lost a loved one in war. The “50th Anniversary Return of Vietnam War POWs” will be a tribute to Vietnam-era hostages and the 58,000 American lives lost throughout the conflict.

Elsewhere will be a “70th Anniversary Korean War Armistice” segment, which is in remembrance of the 30,000 lives lost in the Korean War, and a “World War II Remembrance” which will honor the more than 16 million Americans that served during WWII and the more than 400,000 that lost their lives.

Scattered throughout the night will be moving performances from Adkins, Messina, The War and Treaty, and more.
