Jason Mraz is on a Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride with his new album. The “I’m Yours” singer dropped the dance-infused album on Friday (June 23), as evidenced by the lead single “I Feel Like Dancing” and the video for the album’s third track, “Feel Good Too.”

“I definitely went into the studio trying to understand and figure out the disco and dance elements, because that’s something I hadn’t yet done,” Mraz explained to Retropop about the album. “I feel like anything I had done that was uptempo in the past still had a rock feel to it and I wanted to try to get a little more into the dance lane because I haven’t experienced that before. I wanted to try something new.”
Mystical follows his 2020 album, Look for the Good, which reached the Top 30 on the Billboard Top Albums Sales chart. He’ll support the album with the summer-long Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride Summer Tour that kicks off on the West Coast in Troutdale, Oregon, on July 13 and continues through August 17 where it wraps in Queens, New York. The trek includes two sold-out shows at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, Washington, on July 14 and 15.
In 2022, Mraz released the compilation album, Lalalalovesongs, which features a variety of love songs from his catalog, including two of his biggest hits, “I’m Yours” and his duet with Colbie Caillat, “Lucky.”
“It was written so quickly and so joyfully that I thought it was something I might save for a children’s record one day,” he explained about the meaning of “I’m Yours.” I equated it to a nursery rhyme. I don’t know why that is, I think because it was written in such primary colors. It wasn’t originally written as a love song, it was written more out of this joy of singing, close my eyes and singing to the great unknown and to that higher power saying, ‘make me an instrument, I’m yours.’”
