Justin Bieber recently released a statement through a representative that he is not, in fact, using drugs. The statement came after several weeks of concern from fans on social media over recent photos and video footage of the singer looking a bit in the way of poor health.

Bieber’s rep also went on to criticize those speculating about his alleged drug use as “exhausting and pitiful.” They also noted that the gossip “shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
The statement was specifically released in response to photos of Justin Bieber that were taken in Los Angeles and New York. The photos circulated social media a couple of weeks ago and prompted concern over Justin Bieber’s health. A video captured of Bieber interacting with a fan shows the singer wobbling back and forth. Allegedly, the photos were taken after a particularly sleepless night spent in the recording studio while also taking care of his son.
Justin Bieber’s Drug Use Severely Impacted His Health Years Ago
Bieber once struggled with drug use and has been allegedly sober from drugs since 2014. He allegedly only consumes alcohol on a social level. Bieber has been vulnerable with the public about his past issues with drug abuse, too. He even said that he was once in such a bad place that his security team would “check his pulse” at night to make sure he was still alive.
“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” Bieber told GQ back in 2021. “It was like I had all this success and it was still like: I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. I still have these unresolved issues. And I thought all the success was going to make everything good. And so for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through.”
The representative for Bieber also noted that the last year or so has been “very transformative” for Bieber. They noted that he “ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”
According to the statement, Bieber is currently busy working on new music. He is also focused on parenting his newborn baby with his wife Hailey Bieber.
