Since starting in 1985, Guns N’ Roses has been a revolving door for musicians. That behavior continues, as longtime drummer, Frank Ferrer has officially left GNR. Ferrer, who has been the drummer for GNR since 2006, didn’t release any personal statement regarding his departure. However, GNR released a press release via Loud Wire stating that his departure was an “amicable exit.”

Frank Ferrer has been the drummer to stay with GNR for the longest time, and his entry into the band came after Bryan “Brain” Mantia’s departure in 20026. Since joining Guns N’ Roses in 2006, Ferrer has toured with the band extensively and was with the band when lead guitarist, Slash, made his grand return in 2016.

Though, after 19 years, Frank Ferrer has decided to part ways for undisclosed reasons. Although, per the press release and Instagram post crafted by GNR, it seems that Ferrer’s decision to depart was respected and understood.

Guns N’ Roses Wishes Ferrer All The Best

In the press release acquired by Loud Wire, a GNR official wrote, “Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer, the longest-serving drummer in their storied run. The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico,” the press release concluded.

In addition to the press release, GNR took to Instagram to announce the departure of their beloved drummer. The post stated, “Thank you, Frank. For the friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the last 19 years.”

As of now, GNR has seemingly made no arrangements for a new drummer. However, they will surely find one soon, as they are set to kick off their world tour on May 1 in Incheon, South Korea.
