Luke Bryan Playfully Capitalizes on Viral Coldplay Kiss Cam Moment

Few artists love a good viral moment more than Luke Bryan. And the moment presented itself during the five-time Entertainer of the Year’s July 17 concert in Greenville, South Carolina. Just a day earlier, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin launched a thousand internet memes when he joked that a camera-shy couple was “having an affair” after they were spotted together on the Jumbotron. On his 49th birthday, Luke Bryan couldn’t resist cashing in on Coldplay’s virality.

“Who’s with their secretary tonight?” the “Play It Again” crooner asked the crowd at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

“Hey, it’s got to be somebody way up there,” he said, gesturing toward the nosebleeds. “Oh, yeah! There they are,” Bryan joked. “Do not get caught tonight!”

Coldplay Kiss Cam Incident Breaks the Internet

Luke Bryan’s quip came just one day after a “Fan Cam” panned to a man hugging a woman from behind during Coldplay’s show at Gillette Stadium in Boston. When they realized they were on the Jumbotron, the woman covered her face and turned away from the camera as the man crouched down out of sight.

“Whoa, look at these two,” Martin said from the stage. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Chris Martin caught one camera-shy couple by surprise as he addressed the audience at a Coldplay concert – and joked that they were ‘either having an affair’ or were just very bashful. As the frontman panned his ‘kiss cam’ around the crowd at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Wednesday, the pair looked horrified to be seen by thousands on the big screen. What do you think? As the woman kept her back turned to the lingering camera, the “Yellow” singer began strumming his guitar. “I’m not quite sure what to do,” he told the crowd. “Oh s–t, I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

Because this is the internet, video footage of the moment spread like wildfire, igniting intense online speculation about the couple’s identities and relationship status. The man has subsequently resigned from his position as CEO of a technology company.

Now, Bryan is having his own moment in the social media spotlight as footage of his quip make the rounds. “I JUST KNEW if anyone was gonna be in it haha it would be Luke haha,” one TikTok user wrote.

Many pointed out that the woman in question was actually an HR executive, not a secretary. For others, that didn’t diminish the comedic effect. “Luke is messy and I’m here for it,” another fan commented.
