Grammy-nominated soul artist Mayer Hawthorne returned with new music Thursday, dropping new single “Love Like That” and announcing his fourth album, Man About Town. The album is due on April 8, but fans can stream “Love Like That” below.
Man About Town, Hawthorne’s fourth LP and first since 2013’s Where Does This Door Go, sees the singer returning to the producer role as well. The Ann Arbor-born artist took on most of the producing for Man About Town, while also writing all of the songs and playing almost every instrument heard on the record.
“Sometimes it’s groovy, other times [it’s] vulnerable and sincere,” Hawthorne said of the album in a press release. “It’s the shit people listen to when they want to get drunk and stoned and sentimental.”
A string of tour dates will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, Hawthorne will support Hall & Oates on Feb. 19 at their show at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
