Megan Moroney Debuts a Devastating New Song About the One Who Got Away at Nashville Show

When scheduling her Cloud 9 tour, Megan Moroney looked far beyond the United States. Wanting to go international, the singer already scheduled shows in France and throughout the United Kingdom. As for the American leg of her tour, Moroney decided to end it with one last show in Nashville. Taking the stage, the hitmaker entertained thousands of fans with several of her hit songs. But the highlight of the night came when Moroney offered fans a special treat with an unreleased song. 

Fans have continuously wondered what the next chapter of Moroney’s career would look like. With the success of Cloud 9, some have called for a deluxe edition. But while fans will have to wait, whatever comes next – it might center on the sting of heartbreak. Welcoming her fellow collaborator, Jesse Alexander, to the stage, Moroney explained, “I have to say that, there are no plans for this song as of now, like, maybe it’s a duet. I don’t know, if y’all hear it as a duet,  I have no idea.”

Although it’s unreleased, Moroney made sure to add that she didn’t know what would come of the track. “Usually when  I tease things, it’s fully produced in the studio and stuff. Haven’t gone in the studio, but I could always go tomorrow, so if you guys like it, maybe I’ll go tomorrow, I don’t know.”

Megan Moroney Would Implode Without Songwriting

If the reaction from fans was any indication, Moroney and Alexander might be heading to the studio. And the praise didn’t stop there as fans filled the comment section with hopes she would release the song. 

As for the lyrics, the song followed Moroney as she learned that all the beauty in the world compared little to the vibrant color of love. Throughout the song, she listed places she had visited. The list included Times Square, Las Vegas, Graceland, and the Smoky Mountains. But as she said, nothing was like being in the presence of love. 

With Moroney loving what she produced with Alexander, she noted how her first love would always be songwriting. “I love songwriters, I love writing songs, I truly think that I would implode if I couldn’t write songs… so writing songs is very healing, and I feel really, really lucky to have such an amazing community of songwriters.”  

While Moroney remained unsure about the song’s future, the Nashville crowd appeared to make its opinion clear. And with the singer admitting a trip to the studio could happen at any moment, fans might not have heard the last of the unreleased track.
