More About Look Up
As previously reported, Look Up is a collection of 11 country tunes that features Starr collaborating with acclaimed producer, musician, and songwriter T Bone Burnett. Nine of the 11 songs were written or co-written by Burnett, who also produced the album. Ringo and his longtime studio engineer, Bruce Sugar, co-wrote one song, “Thankful,” a duet with lauded country/bluegrass artist Alison Krauss.
Besides Krauss and Tuttle, Look Up features several other guest artists, including Billy Strings, Lucius, and Larkin Poe. Starr’s brother-in-law, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, also contributed to the album.
Look Up is the first full-length album Starr has recorded since his 2019 studio effort What’s My Name. It can be pre-ordered now.
Starr’s 2025 Performance Plans
Ringo will celebrate Look Up’s release with two special Nashville concerts, on January 14 and 15, at the Ryman Auditorium. Starr will be joined at the shows by Burnett and various guest musicians.
The concerts will feature Ringo performing country-style versions of Beatles tunes and his solo hits, as well songs from Look Up and his 1970 country album, Beaucoups of Blues.
Starr also will be hitting the road in June with his All Starr Band for a series of eight U.S. concerts. The trek kicks off June 12 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and runs through a June 25 show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
