Producer Andrew Watt Reveals the Special Bond He Shares with Ozzy Osbourne; Gives Health Update About the Metal Madman

In recent years, Andrew Watt has become one of the most respected and in-demand producers in the music world. Among the many famous artists heโ€™s worked with during the past decade are Post Malone, Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, and one Ozzy Osbourne.

Watt first worked with Osbourne on the Metal Madmanโ€™s 2020 album Ordinary Man, which included his collaborative hit single with Post Malone, โ€œTake What You Want.โ€ Andrew also produced Ozzyโ€™s 2022 follow-up studio effort, Patient Number 9.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXMโ€™s The Howard Stern Show, Watt revealed that he and Osbourne share a special bond.

โ€œOzzy and I both got a bat tattooed on our hands in the same place,โ€ Andrew shared. He also showed off the ink, which is located on the skin between his thumb and index finger.

When host Howard Stern asked whether Watt and Osbourne got their tattoos together, the producer said they did. Andrew then shared a hilarious story about what happened when it Ozzyโ€™s turn to get the bat tat.

Watt explained that the tattoo artist was extremely nervous to be working on the heavy-metal legend, something Ozzy apparently noticed. Osbourne then decided to play a joke on the unsuspecting tattoist.

โ€œ[T]he second he was like putting the needle on Ozzyโ€™s hand, Ozzy [screams] as loud as he could,โ€ Andrew said. โ€œ[A]nd the tattoo artist fell over on the ground and, like, basically s— his pants. [He] needed like a full, like, 20 minutes to recover. And Ozzyโ€™s just hysterically laughing on the couch.โ€

Watt Also Discussed Osbourneโ€™s Health

Osbourne, who has been battling serious health issues in recent years, is preparing to return to the stage for a star-studded reunion performance with Black Sabbathโ€™s original lineup in their hometown of Birmingham, England. The show will take on July 5 at Villa Park stadium.

Watt talked about the status of Ozzyโ€™s health with Stern.

โ€œHeโ€™s okay. Itโ€™s just, his body is not doing what he wants it to do all the time,โ€ Andrew noted. โ€œBut I talked to him a couple days ago, and heโ€™s โ€ฆ starting to get in the gym again a little bit โ€ฆ [getting] himself ready for this last concert. He is the real-life Iron Man, and nothing has happened to his voice. His voice is โ€ฆ as good as it has ever been.โ€

Watt also told Stern that heโ€™ll be taking part in the concert, which has been dubbed โ€œBack to the Beginning.โ€
