Although Reba McEntire once studied to become a school teacher, life had other plans as she went on to become one of the top names in country music. Since first stepping on stage during the 1970s, the singer sold over 75 million albums and won countless awards. Just looking over the last year, she continued to help inspire other singers as she coached on The Voice. She also helmed her own show again with Happy’s Place. And now it seems that Reba might be returning to Hollywood as she is set to produce and star in the new film The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.
Back in 2013, writer Fannie Flagg released the novel The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion. The story surrounded an Alabama family dealing with some startling news when one member, Sookie Poole, received letters informing her she was adopted. Having to face several challenges throughout each chapter, the production company sought out Callie Khouri. Known for films like Thelma & Louise, the director will stand beside producers Jeremy Latcham and Reba.

Although some might not know the novel, Flagg also wrote other classic stories like Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. Also adapted into a screenplay, the film featured stars like Mary Stuart Masterson and Kathy Bates.

Reba McEntire Not Returning To ‘The Voice’ Season 27
As for Reba, she shared her excitement about working with Flagg, explaining in a statement. “I’ve always been a fan of Fannie Flagg and her writing, and it’s been an honor to call her my friend for the past decade. I cannot wait to work with this incredible team to bring another one of her special stories to life on the big screen.”
While helming her one show and appearing in movies, Reba ended her time on The Voice, for now, after competing in season 26. For season 27, the producer announced that Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé would be the coaches. Although not appearing in the upcoming season, Reba is sure to make her way back to the hit show eventually as stars like Legend took some time off before returning.
