Sabrina Carpenter lit up the stage at the GRAMMYs with an exciting performance of her biggest summer hits. Predictably bedazzled, she performed “Please Please Please” and “Espresso,” among other songs. However, both songs of the summer are nominated for awards.

Carpenter opened her performance of “Espresso” with hilarious gags and a classic style. She also tap danced a little, before transitioning into “Please Please Please.” She kept the laughs going through the entire performance, completing the ensemble with an elaborate and dazzling set.
This is Sabrina Carpenter’s first time being nominated for a GRAMMY award, and she snagged six total nominations. Short n’ Sweet is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best New Artist; “Espresso” is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year; and “Please Please Please” is nominated for Song of the Year.

As you might expect, Carpenter’s unique and entertaining performance had the internet buzzing. One fan wrote, “Watching Sabrina Carpenter’s performance at the #Grammys2025 makes me want to hear a stripped down version of #Espresso you know as a jazz record or something.” Another fan added, “Sabrina Carpenter is on another level.” Continuing the praise, “The theatrics… yes SabrinaCarpenter! #Grammys2025,” other fans added.
Could Sabrina Carpenter Break Records at Her First GRAMMY Awards?
Sabrina Carpenter has the opportunity to break multiple records at her first-ever GRAMMY Awards ceremony with her infectious summer pop songs. “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” are both nominated for big awards: Song of the Year and Record of the Year, respectively. If Carpenter wins both awards, she’ll be the first female artist in 50 years to do that in the same night. The last time was folk legend Carole King.
Also in the running alongside Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter could break a record currently held by Billie Eilish and Christopher Cross. Either could become only the third artist to win all four major awards in the same night: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. Eilish won all four in 2020 which Cross achieved the milestone first in 1981.
The stakes are high at the GRAMMYs this year, with many records poised to be tied or broken by the biggest stars. Additionally, while Los Angeles is in the midst of recovering after the tragic wildfires, the Recording Academy is putting its efforts not only toward a great awards show, but toward fundraising and donations alongside MusiCares. While the landscape of entertainment has been altered, many organizations are banding together to help rebuild.
