Tyler Childers surely didn’t get to where he is by sugarcoating. The Kentucky native has built a fanbase singing candidly about the opioid epidemic and the “Long Violent History” of the United States. So when Childers recently fell ill and had to reschedule several shows, the “Shake the Frost” crooner, 33, made sure fans knew exactly why.

“So There’s A Fecal Chart”
Tyler Childers’ On the Road Tour was initially slated for an April 15 stop at the Coast Credit Union Music Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. Due to illness, he rescheduled for Wednesday, April 23. Thanking fans for their patience, Childers spared no detail in explaining the delay.
“So some of you may not know this, because why would you? I wouldn’t have known it unless someone hadn’t shared this with me. There’s a fecal chart,” said the “All Your’N” singer.
Of course—don’t all the best stories start with, “There’s a fecal chart?”
Childers continued, “And it goes from one to seven. And one is like really good ice, and seven is like the water that you put over it. And I was at about eight. That would’ve been… that would’ve been a show, but it wouldn’t have been the one I wanted to perform for y’all. So, thanks for being here.”
And for the rest of the show, everyone in the audience was much better informed on Tyler Childers’ bathroom habits than they would like.
“I feel like at every one of his shows that I’ve been to there’s always a moment where I say, ‘Oh Tyler, you didn’t have to tell us that, but here we are,” one TikTok user commented.
Tyler Childers Will Headline Healing Appalachia Festival
Alongside fellow Kentucky crooner Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers will headline this year’s Healing Appalachia Festival later this year.
Taking place Sept. 19-20 in Ashland Kentucky, Healing Appalachia bills itself as “the largest recovery-based music festival.”
Childers co-founded the festival, which debuted in 2018. The “In Your Love” hitmaker has never shied away from his past battles with hard drugs and alcohol before committing to sobriety in 2020.
