For any teenager who grew up during the 1990s, they witnessed the birth of the Backstreet Boys. Consisting of Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, and Howie Dorough, the boy band took over the airwaves with hits like “I Want It That Way.” Throughout the years, the group sold over 130 million albums and won countless awards. They even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Having toured the world and solidified themselves as one of the top boy bands in music, it seemed the Backstreet Boys weren’t done just yet as the band announced a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.

For decades, bands grew accustomed to the average stage. Needing a great deal of light and pyrotechnics, bands learned to dress the stage to their liking. But then the Madison Square Garden Company announced the Las Vegas Sphere. Packed with LED screens and standing over 360 feet tall, the sphere welcomed a new era of concerts. With bands anxious to perform on the stage, the Backstreet Boys shared the exciting news on Instagram.

Wanting to take fans on a trip through the legacy of the Backstreet Boys, the band posted a video of the Sphere announcing the new residency. They captioned the post, writing, “We’re heading ‘Into The Millennium’ once again! Relive your Backstreet Boys Y2K memories, but this time… LARGER THAN LIFE at Sphere starting this July!” Offering details about the concerts, the group added, “The first ticket & hotel packages are on sale this Friday, February 14th through @vibeepresents. General tickets on sale February 21. Other presales and general on sale information, including dates and times, available at sphere.backstreetboys.com.”
Fans Pumped To See Backstreet Boys On The Stage Once Again
Only sharing the post Wednesday morning, the video already gained over 60,000 likes and fans went crazy over the announcement, “Now THIS is pretty freaking cool!!! Wowwww wowwww!!.” One individual even asked for a DVD of the concert. “Can I request a DVD or even a live stream for one show to be made for the fans who can not attend?” Other comments included, “SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP!!!!!! I am SO EXCITED!!!!!! If I’m dreaming, NO ONE WAKE ME UP!!!!! Absolutely iconic!!!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!”
With the Sphere opening in September 2023, Backstreet Boys will follow bands like The Eagles, U2, and even Phish, who all performed on the mesmerizing stage.
