A video posted to social media shows Jelly Roll and Malone hanging out in a backstage area. Conversations in the room cover most of the sound. However, if you listen closely, you’ll hear Zach Top’s hit song “I Never Lie” playing in the background. The future tourmates can definitely hear it. Post Malone, Jelly Roll, and Zach Top were three of the most talked-about artists in 2024. They all released buzzworthy albums last year and won over countless fans.
Top released his label debut Cold Beer & Country Music early in the year and caught the ears of millions of fans. For many, his throwback sound was a sign that the pendulum of the Nashville machine was swinging back toward traditional country music. At the same time, his meteoric rise to fame alerted other artists and industry professionals to the countless fans who are aching for nostalgic country sound.
Malone has been a superstar for years. He has seen success in multiple genres including hip-hop and pop. In 2024, he jumped into the country music world with both feet. His genre debut F-1 Trillion was a hot topic ahead of its release and a hit after it dropped. The album’s tracklist featured collaborations with several legacy artists that seemed like Music City’s stamp of approval.
Jelly Roll made major waves with his debut country album Whitsitt Chapel in 2023. Then, he followed that with his sophomore country record Beautifully Broken in 2024. It was his first No. 1 album and opened several doors for the Nashville native.
