Yet again, here we are, writing another story about Post Malone’s bottomless kindness and influence in the world of country music. Frankly, and it might be wrong, but it seems no artist has ever stood in an adversarial position towards Malone. Which, in this game, is seemingly harder to do than scoring a No. 1 hit. Nevertheless, Malone has successfully done it and it shows, as the Grand Old Opry recently released a video in honor of his debut.

Post Malone made his Opry debut in August of 2024 alongside country music’s A-list talent. In short, the performance was phenomenal and was seemingly a rite of passage moment for the soon-to-be bonified country star. In honor of what he’s done for the genre, the Opry released some unseen footage from his debut.
Post Malone Resides in Country Music’s Good Graces
Spanning over 12 minutes, the Opry’s video shows all of the context leading up to Post Malone’s debut performance. Additionally, it also visually articulates the boyish charm, sensibility, and humor Malone is known for. In all, the video is a must-see, however, there are a few stand-out moments that put Malone’s impact into perspective.
One of the more notable compliments Malone received was from country music’s newest version of Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson. In a recorded interview she stated, “We just knew immediately that were were gonna be buddies, and he’s got such a heart of gold.” She continued, “I could talk about him all day” and “There was even a man who came in to change the trash, and he was treating him just like he treated the guy who owned the studio, and that says a lot about who he is as a person.”
Country music veteran, Vince Gill, also chimed in on the matter and paid his respects to country music’s newest toy. “He’s a really gracious, kind soul. I really enjoyed the time I’ve got to spend with him, it’s minimal, but I really love his heart,” said Gill. He added, “It’s fun to see somebody love this music that’s not necessarily a big part of it” and “I think Post has shown how much he loves it, and he knows an awful lot about it.”
Two heavy-hitting comments from two heavy-hitting musicians. Other than Gill and Wilson, other musicians who pay tribute to Malone in the video include The War & Treaty and John Michael Montgomery. Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion might have been one of the hottest albums of the year. Though, more importantly, he proves that success doesn’t have to dull kindness.
