Since the 1960s, the Osmond family looked to leave their mark in the entertainment industry. While family members Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay started out as a barbershop quartet, the group eventually added their younger siblings, Jimmy and Donny Osmond. Throughout the 1970s, the band gained a faithful following. Even their sister, Marie Osmond, found success as a solo artist. While continuing to perform and expand their legacy, Donny recently shared a touching tribute to his brother Wayne, who passed away at 73 years old.

Over the decades, Wayne struggled with his health as he suffered from a brain tumor in the 1990s. Jumping forward to 2012, the musician suffered a stroke. And on January 1, 2025, Wayne passed away surrounded by his wife and children.
Wanting to honor his brother’s legacy, Donny posted a picture of Wayne, writing, “My dear brother Wayne passed away peacefully last night from a stroke. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit him in the hospital before he passed.” Getting a chance to visit with his brother, Donny continued, “Wayne brought so much light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him, especially me. He was the ultimate optimist and was loved by everyone.”

Donny Osmond Focused On His Memories With Wayne Osmond
Although leaving behind a family, Donny focused on just having Wayne as a brother. “I’m sure I speak on behalf of every one of us siblings when I state that we were fortunate to have Wayne as a brother.” And while hurt about the loss, Donny doesn’t see it as the end, “Even though we are separated in this mortal life, I know that by the grace and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we will have the opportunity to be with Wayne for eternity.”
With the heartfelt post gaining nearly 50,000 likes, fans offered their love and support to the Osmond family. “Oh Donnie, I’m so sorry. You have peace knowing you will see him again. I love all of you and I am sending love and prayers.” Another comment read, “My deepest condolences to you, your family, and Wayne’s family. I grew up listening to your music. The Osmonds were a favorite of mine. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.”
