Okay, now that’s meta. During this acoustic session at Rolling Stone, Jeff Bridges revisits Bob Dylan’s “The Man In Me,” the song that opens his most celebrated film, The Big Lebowski. That’s singer-songwriter Carrie Rodriguez sitting beside him on fiddle.
“Now we get to do one from my favorite songwriter. I would bet it’s 90 percent of the people in this room’s favorite songwriter. Of course I’m talking about Bob Dylan,” says the actor/musician by way of an intro. La la la la’s and Bridges’ charmingly casual vocals follow. If only he’d changed the lyrics to “The Dude in me…”
