3 Quick Facts About Alanna Lynise: ‘The Voice’ Singer Whose Julia Michaels Cover Had John Legend Rethinking Life

Season 27 of The Voice is seemingly off to a great start, thanks to the rapport between the new judges and the sheer talent that has graced the stage. That being so, the show is nearly done with its first phase, as the blind audition round will end on March 3. However, according to several sources, the end of the round is not basic in the slightest, and that is all thanks to the final singer, Alanna Lynise.

According to several reports, Alanna Lynise stole the show in the closing moments of the episode. John Legend stated, “I don’t have any spots left on my team, I literally could not turn.” He continued, “I would’ve turned probably like, within the first 15 seconds because I loved your intonation and the confidence and the poise you showed” and “All three of them turned for you, and I’m so excited for you,” per People. With no surprise, her performance resulted in a four-chair turn by all the judges.

Despite Legend’s comments, Lynise didn’t go to his team. Rather, that will be divulged tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC when the episode airs. Though, to give you some context about the singer before her big night, here are three quick facts about Alanna Lynise.

Alanna Lynise is A Young Ohio Native

Hailing from Toledo, Ohio, Alanna Lynise is only 21-years-old. Given her age, she is not one of the younger contestants to ever compete on the show. Rather, she is seemingly right in the mean age range of most contestants. Regarding her home state, Lynise is the sixth singer from Ohio to appear on the show. Other contestants from the state include Hayden Grove, Ian Harrison, Jackson Snelling, and Alanna Hicks.

Her Music Career Has Been Years in The Making

Like all contestants to compete on The Voice, music has been an internal part of their lives, and they have consistently chased that dream. Lynise is no different, as the Ohio-native has been sharing videos of her performing on Instagram for quite some time now. Now, her voice will be heard by millions, not only by a couple thousand.

She Performed a Cover of Julia Michaels’ “Issues”

For her blind audition, Lynise stunned judges with a cover of Julia Michaels’ 2017 single, “Issues.” Thanks to her impeccable performance, Lynise captured the attention of all four judges. Also, given the quality of the cover, Lynise has options as to who her coach will be. The only way to find out who she will choose is by tuning into NBC at 8 p.m. ET tonight, March 3.
