Since forming in London during the 1990s, Coldplay watched as songs like “A Sky Full of Stars”, “Hymn for the Weekend”, and “Fix You” helped them sell over 100 million albums. Consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, the band not only sold millions of albums but became the first group to land over 90 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Having spent decades performing and recording, Coldplay found their way to the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Back in October, Coldplay released their tenth studio album with Moon Music. It marked the band’s first album in nearly three years. Releasing Music of the Spheres in 2021, the band also spent the last three years helming the Music of the Sphere World Tour. Traveling all over the world and sharing their love for music, the band felt right at home when performing “All My Love.”
Looking at what fans had to say about the performance, comments included, “Something about the way he looks when he sings and makes eye contact with the camera is mesmerizing. This song will truly never get old.” Another comment read, “This is hands off the best song ever made. You can’t change my mind.”
Earlier in the night, they accepted their award for Top Rock Touring Artist, where they jokingly dubbed themselves the “handsomest old man band in the world.”

Coldplay Needed To Make New Album According To Chris Martin
Outside of performing at the BBMAs, Coldplay also walked into the venue with a few nominations. The band was nominated in the category for Top Rock Touring Artist alongside The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Also up for the award for Top Duo/Group, Coldplay faced off against groups like Linkin Park, Stray Kids, Blink-182, and Fuerza Regida.
Discussing the band’s ongoing success in the music industry with Audacy hosts Ally and Klein, Martin opened up about the new album Moon Music. He admitted there was “no reason really for anyone to go and seek out a new Coldplay album, except that this one’s really good. These are songs that we really love and have collected over the last few years, and all I can say is it’s something we need to make. I don’t know if anyone’s going to like it, but we needed to make it.”
While claiming Coldplay will retire after releasing their 12th studio album, it appeared that the band’s success continues to stack up.
