Timothee Chalamet Will Perform On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Traditionally, only musicians have served as both host and musical guest in the 50-year history of Saturday Night Live. Timothee Chalamet will make history during the Jan. 25 episode as one of just five non-professional singers to do so.

Chalemet joins Lily Tomlin, Gary Busey, Desi Arnaz, and Deion Sanders on this exclusive list. The current Colorado Buffs head coach was the last to pull double duty in February 1995.

With all the buzz surrounding A Complete Unknown, fans began eagerly anticipating which Bob Dylan hits the Academy Award nominee will take on. “Oh man what Dylan songs is he going to perform?” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “The soundtrack kicked ass and to hear it live will be phenomenal.”

In addition to his stunning portrayal, Chalamet also performs all 23 tracks on the film’s soundtrack, including “Mr. Tambourine Man” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.”

Still, director James Mangold couldn’t stop singing (pun intended) the star’s praises. “It’s not like this was a fast thing. This is six years of work for him to get to the place where he can own this music,” he told Variety. “So the first time I heard him sing, he was good, but he wasn’t what he is in the movie yet.”
