Chappell Roan helped to raise significant funds for Los Angeles wildfire victims. After the devastating blazes burned over 57,000 acres, Give A Frock LA and Julien’s Auctions took action. They teamed up to raise money for wildfire relief with an auction. In doing so, they aimed to harness the power of pop culture to make a difference.

Roan donated several items to the auction, most notably the vintage sequined marching band unitard she wore in her “Hot to Go” music video.
The unitard, which Roan also wore onstage at the Outside Lands Festival, features a gold lurex belt with fringe. It also has a white Nehru collar with red piping, gold Velcro epaulets with fringe and braided rope, a keyhole at bust, and sequined applique stars.
A pair of size 7 white Monsieur Jeffrey Campbell knee-high pump boots, with front cutout and buckle details, were also included in the sale.
The ensemble, which was estimated to fetch up to $2,000 sold for $88,900. That sale, which came in at 44 times its high estimate, was the most lucrative of the auction.
What Else Sold in the Auction?
The next highest-bid item was a signed Epiphone Dave Grohl DG-335 signature electric guitar. The instrument sold for just north of $50,000. That sale price was nearly 13 times higher than it was estimated to grab.
Roan’s additional items included a stage-worn ensemble and a pair of boots she wore on the cover of Rolling Stone. The former sold for $22,225, while the latter raked in $6,350.
Other items up for auction included several of Sabrina Carpenter’s music video looks, stage-worn items from Billie Eilish and Charlie XCX, and a gown previously worn by Olivia Rodrigo.
One hundred percent of proceeds went to support organizations. Those charities included One Voice, Altadena Girls, Friends in Deed, and the Pasadena Humane Society.
Martin Nolan, the executive director and co-founder of Julien’s Auctions, reacted to the successful fundraiser in a statement to People.
“We are thrilled with today’s wildly successful auction,” he said, “and beyond grateful and overwhelmed by the support of all of the stars, who unified together to give us their most iconic frocks and pieces to rock for a good cause.”
