Two of the most popular things in pop culture at the moment are country music and Chappell Roan. Well, both those things will be teaming up, as Chappell Roan recently announced the official release date for her highly teased country single, “The Giver.” Roan first teased the album on Saturday Night Live in November of 2024, and ever since everybody has been waiting for an official release date.

To announce the news, Roan took to Instagram and shared quite a lengthy post about the single and its context. Though, of course, the most important news fans seemingly want to hear is when the song will drop. So, Chappell Roan announced that her single, “The Giver,” will drop in just a matter of days on March 13, at 8 p.m. EST.
Chappell Roan’s Country Music Background
In addition to the single’s release date, Roan shared some fairly new information regarding her affection for country music. She wrote in the post, “I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at bon fires, grocery stores and karaoke bars.”
She humorously added, after that comment, “Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is.. hmm right now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun and The Giver is my take on cuntry xoxo may the classic country divas lead their genre.” Other than praising the genre and teasing fans with a potential full-length country album, Roan also attested to the joy this song has brought her.
“@dan_nigro and I wrote this together and it was so fun!!! We’ve never done a country song and I have such a special place in my heart for country music,” wrote Roan. Roan’s co-writer, Dan Nigro is a frequent collaborator of Roans’ as he helped write and produced her mega hits, “Pink Pony Club” and “Good Luck, Babe!”
Regarding Nigro and “Good Luck, Babe!,” this will be Chappell Roan’s first single since releasing her No. 1 hit in April of 2024. And if Roan’s country song follows a similar path, it will surely become a No. 1 hit across the globe. So, maybe, just maybe, Chappell Roan will become the next pop-artist to take over the country music genre.
