More About Triumph
Triumph was formed in 1975 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, by singer/guitarist Rik Emmett, bassist/keyboardist Mike Levine, and singer/drummer Gil Moore. The band released a series of five consecutive albums that reached the top-40 of the Billboard 200 during the 1980s. They included platinum-selling Allied Forces, which was released in 1981.
Triumph’s best-known songs include “Lay It on the Line,” “Magic Power,” “Hold On,” and “Somebody’s Out There.” The latter two tunes peaked at No. 38 and No. 27, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979 and 1986.
Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Metal Hall of Fame in 2021.
