‘The Voice’ Season 27 Live Blog: Live Finale, Part 2, Winner Crowned (May 20, 2025)

After Daly got some kind words from the coaches about their artists, he revealed RENZO as the third place finisher. With that, it came down to Johnston and David. The latter was announced as the winner, giving Bublé his second win in a row.

With just minutes left in the live program, the five finalists took the stage. After the contestants expressed their gratitude to their coaches, Daly got to the long-awaited results. The fifth place artist was then revealed to be Cree. She was followed in fourth place by Flores-Wiseman. That left Johnston, David, and RENZO as the potential winners of The Voice season 27.

In a hilarious pre-recorded sketch, Bublé convinced Legend to team up on a product called Legendary Bubbles. As for what exactly the product would be, that was up for debate. A bubble bath that smelled like money didn’t work out, and neither did a human-sized hamster bubble or a creepy bubble girl. Eventually, they decided it wasn’t meant to be and threw in the towel.  

The longtime Voice coach made his long-awaited return by performing his new single, “Texas.” The crowd roared throughout Shelton’s performance, giving him a warm welcome back to the show’s stage.

Bublé and Cree teamed up for a fun rendition of Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe,” bringing their own unique flair to the track. The duo had the crowd laughing and dancing along as they showed off their silliest moves throughout the performance.

In a hilarious pre-recorded package, former Voice frenemies Levine and Shelton reunited. Levine teased Shelton by calling Ballerini his “new best country friend,” and suggested Shelton had been busy “making moonshine” since he left the show. Levine didn’t stop there, telling Shelton that he bleached his hair solely because he knew it would “trigger” him, and encourage him to “scamper along.”

Alicia Keys, who previously served as a coach on The Voice, took the stage to perform two songs from Hell’s Kitchen, the semi-autobiographical Broadway show about her. Keys was joined by Amanda Reid, the new star of the show, during the performance. The women sang both “The River” and “Empire State of Mind” during the performance.

After a group movie date to see Karate Kid Legends, the Top 5 contestants decided to team up for a performance of Bastille’s “Pompeii.” They delivered an epic rendition of the 2013 track live during the finale. Mid-way through the performance, David, Flores-Wiseman, Cree, RENZO, and Johnston were joined by some of their former competitors as all the finalists sang and danced together.

James Bay and Sheryl Crow teamed up for the night’s next performance. The pair played “You and Me Time,” as the crowd cheered, sang, and danced along.

The Maroon 5 frontman teamed up with his team’s sole remaining contestant to sing The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Both Levine and Flores-Wiseman played instruments as they sang the 1968 track.

Next up on the stage was Joe Jonas, who sang his latest song, “Heart By Heart.” Jonas’ set gave off enchanted forest vibes, and he perfectly matched in a green jacked and jeans.

The bromance that’s been developing all season between David and his coach culminated when the pair teamed up to perform The Band’s “The Weight.” David played guitar as he and Bublé sang the 1968 track.

A former coach on The Voice, Chance the Rapper returned to the show to sing his latest track, “Space and Time.” Surrounded by glowing stars and twinkling lights, Chance captivated the crowd throughout his performance.

In a pre-recorded segment, Olympic skier Mikaela Shiffrin gave Ballerini and Bublé skiing lessons, before they returned the favor by coaching her. It turns out that Ballerini and Bublé’s skiing leaves a lot to be desired when it compares to Shiffrin’s singing. The pro athlete wowed the coaches as she sang Anna Nalick’s “Breathe (2 AM).” In fact, they both agreed that they would’ve turned their chair for Shiffrin if she’d auditioned for the show.

Leatherwood, a former Voice winner from Team Blake Shelton, took the stage next, performing his latest single, “God Made.” He sang the catchy tune while surrounded by a county fair-themed set, which was complete with fun dancers.

Ballerini and Johnston decided to sing “Whiskey Lullaby,” which was originally recorded by Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley. Sitting around a campfire on stage, the country singers delivered an unforgettable performance of the 2003 song.

Ahead of their performance together, Legend and RENZO drew pictures of each other. During that drawing session, Legend floated the idea of singing Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” which he considered a blend of their styles. RENZO agreed and the pair took the stage and delivered an unforgettable rendition of the tune.

Kelly Clarkson took the stage next, performing her latest single “Where Have You Been.” Clarkson, a former coach on The Voice, captivated the crowd with her powerful vocals while singing the ballad.

Foreigner got the live portion of the show started with a medley performance of three of their biggest hits: “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Juke Box Hero,” and “Feels Like The First Time.”

All four coaches are seated in their chairs and ready to get the live portion of the show going! Before that, though, fans got one more look at Monday’s show with Johnston’s performance of Chris Stapleton’s “Cold.”

A second look at Cree’s cover of Dexys Midnight Runners’ “Come on Eileen” and RENZO’s take on Jeff Buckley’s “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” aired next.

Before they open to show with a medley of three songs, Foreigner chatted with Daly about what makes them so popular. “I think it’s the songs,” the band said. “The songs are well written, perfectly arranged, well performed.”

Another look at Flores-Wiseman’s cover of Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower,” as well as a flashback to David’s take on Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah” followed.

Ahead of his performance during the live portion of tonight’s show, Bryce Leatherwood spoke to Daly. He gushed about life since winning The Voice, stating, “It’s been incredible getting to see so many on the road this year.” As for his advice to this year’s finalists, Leatherwood said, “Enjoy the moment. The Voice is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for so many people.”

Fans next got a second look at Johnston’s performance of Dierks Bentley’s “What Was I Thinkin'” and Adam David’s take on Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful to Me.”

Ahead of his performance on tonight’s show, Blake Shelton spoke Daly, telling him, “I’m going to do ‘Texas’ here, which is the first single off the new record.” Shelton also joked about running into his one-time frenemy, Levine.

Those watching were then treated to an encore showing of Wiseman’s cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here, and Cree’s take on Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.”

Dressed in chic black-and-white looks, six semi-finalists chatted with Daly live and teased an upcoming group performance.

Viewers then got to relive RENZO’s performance of “I Want to Get Away” by Lenny Kravitz. After RENZO’s time on stage, Legend proclaimed, “Let’s win The Voice!”

Carson Daly opened up the three-hour finale by welcoming viewers live alongside the finalists: Team Michael Bublé’s Jadyn Cree and Adam David, Team Kelsea Ballerini’s Jaelen Johnson, Team Adam Levine’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman, and Team John Legend’s RENZO. All the contestants agreed that they’re excited—not nervous—about the finale. With that, Daly announced that there’d be an hour-long recap of last night’s performances, before the live show gets underway at 9/8c.
