The Beach Boys have long been known as “America’s Band,” so who better to perform on PBS’ annual Fourth of July special? The legendary rock group is part of the star-studded lineup of the 45th annual edition of A Capitol Fourth, airing live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., at 8 p.m. ET.

The show, hosted by actor and TV host Alfonso Ribeiro, will feature patriotic performances from stars from various musical genres, including pop, country, rock, R&B, classical, and gospel.
The special also will culminate with a massive fireworks display that will light up the D.C. skyline. Accompanying the presentation will be a performance of the “1812 Overture” by the National Symphony Orchestra.
The A Capitol Fourth lineup also will feature Motown legends The Temptations, country artists Josh Turner and LOCASH, popular Christian music singer/songwriter Lauren Daigle, New Orleans great Trombone Shorty, Grammy-winning singer Yolanda Adams, and
American Idol Season 22 winner Abi Carter.
The hour-and-a-half special will air live on PBS stations and will stream on the network’s YouTube channel and PBS.org. The show also will be available for viewing by U.S. troops around the world via the American Forces Network. In addition, A Capitol Fourth will be available to watch on demand from July 4 to July 18, 2025.

The show will feature a variety of other performances and presentations.
Among them will be a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, as well as of the 2.8 million men and women serving in the country’s all-volunteer armed forces. The commemoration will include an Armed Forces medley.
The show also will feature salute the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and all those who served the U.S. in the military overseas and on the home front. Several surviving veterans from the war will be in attendance.
In addition, the event will feature a salute to first responders, including those who work for fire departments, police forces, and as EMTs, paramedics, and other emergency health care professionals.
Various military bands also will perform during the celebration.
About The Beach Boys’ 2025 Tour Plans
The Beach Boys, led by founding singer Mike Love and longtime member Bruce Johnston, have dozens of upcoming concerts scheduled in 2025.
The band will play a trio of U.S. shows in early July before heading to Europe for nine concerts later that month.
The Beach Boys then will return to the U.S. for more shows in the summer and fall. Those dates are plotted out from an August 1-2 engagement in Park City, Utah, through a November 21 show in Lincoln, California.
