The whole thing started when Brooks & Dunn opened for Morgan Wallen during his I’m the Problem Tour. The headliner welcomed the duo back onstage during his set, and they joined Wallen in singing his track, “Whiskey Glasses.”

Fan videos from the show made it appear as if Dunn pulled out a sheet a of paper with the lyrics while on stage. Even with the paper, neither Brooks nor Dunn sang much during the performance, instead walking around stage.

Ronnie confirmed his use of a cheat sheet his new post to Instagram.

In a video recap of his and Kix Brooks’ experience at the show, Dunn was seen walking to the stage to go sing with Wallen.

“I’m about to sing a Morgan Wallen song that I don’t know,” Dunn told the camera, before pulling out his trusty cheat sheet and stating, “But look at this. If I can read it, we’ll be OK.”

Text onscreen further made light of the situation, as it read, “Ronnie = dyslexic.”

“Hell, I’m still learnin’ NEON MOON :)” Dunn quipped in the caption of Brooks & Dunn’s 1991 hit song. “Love WHISKEY GLASSES… be patient… RD #papergate #wheresthepaper”

Brooks & Dunn will presumably have several more chances to memorize the lyrics. The duo is set to open for Wallen during his upcoming tour stops in Arizona,Washington, California, and Canada.

Morgan Wallen’s Tour and Album

Wallen’s I’m the Problem Tour is in support of his recently released album of the same name. During an April appearance on This Past Weekend with Theo Vaughn, Wallen discussed his want to try something new with I’m the Problem.

“A lot of the things that were successful in the past were like whiskey drinking, all that stuff, and I’ve almost explored every angle of that that’s possible. Last album, I had plenty of trap beats and stuff like that,” he said. “This time, I was like, ‘Hey man, maybe let’s tone that down a little bit.”

Wallen went on to note of his fans, “if I’m tired of it, they’re probably tired of it.”

“You can still get that swagger, you can accomplish certain things without that same thing,” he said. “A lot of my guys that I write with… we had a good sense of what we were shooting for. I had to work harder. Just finding new angles and thinking up new ideas.”
