Paul McCartney Excited to Be Playing Shows in Canada for the First Time in Seven Years: “We Have a Great Affection for It”

Paul McCartney recently confirmed plans for a fall 2025 North American trek, the latest leg of his Got Back Tour. The outing currently features 19 shows, beginning September 29 with the Beatles icon’s first-ever performance in Palm Desert, California, and wrapping up with a November 24-25 stand in Chicago.

The trek also will feature three performances in Canada—on November 17 and 18 in Montreal and November 21 in Hamilton, Ontario. The last time Sir Paul played shows in Canada was during his Freshen Up tour in September 2017. That month, McCartney performed in Quebec City, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.

In honor of his new shows north of the U.S. border, McCartney shared a video message to his Canadian fans that was posted on the Much Music channel’s TikTok page.

“Hi, people of Canada. Paul here. Very excited, ’cause we’re coming back to Canada,” the 83-year-old rock legend said in the clip. “And it’s been seven years since we played there, so I’m really looking forward to getting back. I love Canada. A lot of my relatives emigrated to Canada, so we have a great affection for it. We’re going to Montreal and Hamilton, and we are going to rock and roll with you. So come along and see us. Canada, we love ya.”

Tickets to McCartney’s 2025 Got Back Tour dates go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 18, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale tickets are available now, and fans can register to purchase those at PaulMcCartneyGotBack.com.
