Already releasing songs like “Family Tree” and “Just Friends”, Caylee Hammack continues to expand her career in country music. Way before she landed on the stage, Hammack found a love for country music when she learned to perform by listening to country radio. Listening to acts like the Chicks and SHeDaisy, Hammack eventually moved to Nashville and started to carve her own path in the genre. But recently, she updated fans not about her music but her life after she underwent a gun course due to a situation that made her feel “very unsafe.”

Keeping fans updated about her life in country music, many were shocked when she shared an image of a gun course. The photo featured a target with several holes in it. The country singer wrote, “Recently, something happened that made me feel very very unsafe. Since then, I have been learning defensive maneuvers & strategies with a professional.”
Not going into specific details on what happened to her, Hammack continued to praise the course for giving her the confidence to protect herself. “Taking these defensive courses has given me such security within myself. If you are a gun owner for self defense reasons, I highly suggest looking into taking courses. The reassurance I have now in my capacity to react in high stress moments is a sweet relief from the fear I had been living in recently.”

Caylee Hammack Not The Only One Taking Gun Course
While taking the gun course, Hammack was sure to explain she hoped she never needed to use it. “I pray I get to shoot only paper targets FOREVER & I never have to defend myself with OR without a weapon. But I have invested in myself thru these courses so I can sleep better at night.”
Hammack is the latest singer to discuss the ongoing violence escalating around Nashville. Recently, singer Jay Allen opened up about getting robbed at gunpoint. He shared a video of himself at the gun range, writing, “I got held up at a grocery store in East Nashville a few days ago. I’m ok(besides being out a few bucks), but it was the feeling that I couldn’t get over. Even with having a muscular stature and being covered in tattoos, it didn’t matter… he had a gun, and I didn’t. I felt helpless, taken advantage of, and mad at myself more than anything. I’ve always been on the fence about guns, but today I’m a proud new gun owner. It’s strictly for self-defense, and I will NEVER feel that way again.”
