‘American Idol’ Star Scotty McCreery Postpones Two Concerts in Florida Due to Illness

Back in 2011, Scotty McCreery auditioned for season 10 of American Idol. Although standing with countless other singers, McCreery eventually found himself in the finals. And when it came time to announce the winner, the country star walked away as the next American Idol. While a great deal of time passed since his win, McCreery continues to carve his own path in country music. Just last year, he released his latest album with Rise & Fall. He even hit the road for his headlining tour. But sadly, the singer recently announced he needed to reschedule two concerts due to falling ill.ย

Although McCreery prepared for two concerts in Florida, the singer apparently couldnโ€™t find the strength to take the stage. Sharing the announcement on social media, his team wrote, โ€œUnfortunately the Scotty McCreery shows at Ruth Eckard Hall in Clearwater, Florida tonight (Feb. 20) and Pompano Beach Amphitheater in Pompano Beach, FL tomorrow (Feb 21) are being postponed due to Scotty being ill.โ€ย

While not the best news for fans looking to see McCreery in concert, the team added, โ€œWe are working quickly to try to reschedule these shows and will announce new dates as soon as possible.โ€ย

Jason Crabb Loved Working With Scotty McCreery On “Red Letter Blueprint”

Outside of his time on stage and helming a tour, McCreery also teamed up with Jason Crabb to record a new version of the song โ€œRed Letter Blueprint.โ€ Featured on the Rise & Fall album, Crabb praised the talent of McCreery. โ€œIโ€™m so excited to be joining my friend Scotty on such an incredible song as โ€˜Red Letter Blueprint. โ€™His talent is beyond compare, and heโ€™s one of the greatest guys Iโ€™ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Itโ€™s an honor to be singing alongside him.โ€ย

Fans appeared to agree with Crabb as many commented on the song, writing, โ€œIโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™ve ever heard an artist that i like every single song they put out until now. Youโ€™re doing such an awesome job, Scotty. Iโ€™m glad Iโ€™ve seen your road to success from the American Idol days.โ€ One person continued, โ€œI didn’t think this song could get any better, but you two together knock this out of the park!!  Bravo!!โ€
