Earlier this month Brian May announced he had suffered a minor stroke that resulted in him temporarily losing control of his arm. Following the scare, May has been updating fans as he posted a video about the incident and his current condition.

The video May posted was in early September, and until now, the only updated information the public has had regarding May’s health. However, that is no longer the case as May’s wife, Anita Dobson, has shared some invaluable information about his recovery.
The Initial Incident
In the video May shared with fans he said, “The good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days.” And that he “was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that [he] mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke”
May seemed completely unphased in the video, as his sense of humor was still present despite the circumstances. Given May’s demeanor and Dobson’s comments, it seems May is doing just fine. So, fans don’t have to worry too much anymore about losing another rock ‘n’ roll icon anytime soon.
Brian May’s Road to Recovery
As of recent it seems some of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century are saying goodbye far too often. That being so, nobody wants to see May added to that list anytime soon. Evidently, his wife agrees and she knows the public agrees as well. In a successful attempt to spread hope regarding May’s health, Dobson spoke with The Sun and said, “He’s been told to rest. It’s hard to keep him resting, but he needs to, otherwise he won’t get well.”
She followed up her statement with, “He’s doing great – he’s on the road, he’s doing really, really well. We’re very pleased.” Lastly, Dobson closes her comments by saying that she is “completely confident” that May will “make a full recovery.”
Dobson’s comments hold volumes of weight, as the music world has seen some of the most tragic passing in recent years. Given these tragedies, Dobson knows how important it is to keep May’s fans updated amidst his recovery. Luckily, it seems folks will be able to see May play for a couple more years and props to Dobson for making that publicly known.
