The Pacific Northwest-born songwriter and singer with a golden voice has now made several appearances on the ABC singing competition show as a guest mentor. And it happened again on Sunday (April 16).

Stone was not only a guest mentor, but he showed off the pipes on the show, singing the Bob Marley classic song “Is This Love.” Trademark big glasses, yellow locks, and holding a guitar, Stone wowed the judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.

“That’s what a pro sounds like,” said Richie.

Stone interacted with the audience, as the song danced from his tongue. Midway through the number he was joined by a trio of backup singers.

The event took place as the final 26 contestants are set to perform for their chance to move on. The venue? The Disney resort and spa, Aulani.

Host Ryan Seacrest congratulated Stone after the performance. The two talked about Stone’s song, “Magic,” and his upcoming tour with another great singer, Chris Stapleton, later this summer. Stapleton, of course, boasts the platonic ideal of a country voice, raspy and intoxicating.

“Been a long time coming putting together a music video with my PNW compadre Mr. Justin Frick. Stoked on how this video turned out,” Stone wrote on Twitter teasing the new “Magic” video.” Check it out tomorrow wherever you check stuff out”

Stone is also set to play Red Rocks with blues rock guitar player Gary Clark Jr. on May 13.

“Thank you, Hawaii!” said Stone as the moment came to a finish.

Stone called the opportunity to help the up-and-coming American Idol contestants “an Honor.” He sat next to another of the show’s mentors, Noah Cyrus, sister of pop star Miley.
