Country Music Legend Reveals His Family Suffered a “Heartbreaking and Deeply Personal” Loss Due to Texas Floods

The voice behind hit songs like “Wave on Wave” and “Dixie Lullaby”, Pat Green spent the last few decades exploring a career in country music. And throughout that time, he found his way to the Billboard Hot Country Songs. “Wave on Wave” not only landed No. 3 on the charts, but it also brought Green a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song. But recently, Green made headlines not for his music career but due to his family suffering a “heartbreaking and deeply personal loss” after floods ripped through central Texas.

While most Texas residents slept during the early hours of Friday, floods quickly hit the Texas Hill Country, causing the Guadalupe River to rise a staggering 26 feet in less than an hour. With little time to react to the flooding, reports revealed that over 100 people have lost their lives with dozens still missing. As rescue efforts continued, Green posted a message on Instagram about how his family and the floods.

Not going into too much detail about how his family, Green wrote, “Over the weekend, during the devastating flooding that hit Central Texas, my family – like so many others – suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss. We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy.”

With Green and his family navigating the aftermath of the floods and their loss, the singer asked for privacy. “Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family. Thank you for your love, prayers, and compassion.”

Wife Of Pat Green Offered More Details About Texas Flood

Although Green decided to stay silent about what exactly happened to his family, his wife, Kori Green, shed more light on the situation, revealing that the singer’s brother, his wife, and two children remained unaccounted for. “We are so thankful for the outpouring of love and concern. Pat’s little brother John, his wife, Julia, and two of their children were swept away in the Kerrville flood.”

While trying to stay positive throughout the situation, Kori added, “We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found. Thank you for your prayers.”

As for the relief efforts, authorities continued to comb the area, searching for survivors and victims. Since the news broke surrounding the floods, several country music stars like Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert helped raise funds for those impacted.
