Country Star Walks the ACM Awards Red Carpet With Her Pet Pig—and He’s Dressed to the Nines

Celebrities typically use the red carpet at awards shows as an opportunity to score some pictures of themselves and their spouse, as well as with their family members. However, that is not what the first-time ACM-nominee Jessie Murph is doing in the slightest. Murph brought a loved one to the red carpet walk, but it wasn’t a human. Rather, it was her beloved pet pig appropriately named “Wilbur.”

Concerning her decision to bring her pink four-legged friend, Murph told Country Now, “It’s a real pig. He’s a little guy. His name’s Wilbur.” “I just decided that I wanted a pig, and I’ve always wanted one my whole life. I’ve always wanted a mini pig, and then I find out that miniature pigs don’t exist.”

This is likely the first time anyone has ever brought a pig to an ACM red carpet walk. Scratch that, this is probably the first time anyone has brought a pig to a red carpet walk in the history of all awards shows. Though Wilbur is dressed in the appropriate attire, as Murph stated that “He’s supposed to wear a matching bow.”

If that wasn’t enough, it sounds as if Wilbert almost went home with Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie Xo.

Why Jessie Murph is Surprised by Her ACM Nomination

Jessie Murph’s red carpet walk with Wilbur comes as a result of her New Female Artist of the Year nomination. Given that Murph is not a full-blown country artist, she was fairly surprised by her nomination. She told Country Now, “It was so mind blowing. I was not expecting it. I don’t feel like I’m a country artist” and “I was a little bit like, what? But I’m happy to be here and I’m happy to be here supporting everybody.”

Murph’s nomination comes after her country collaborations with Koe Wetzel and Baily Zimmerman, but still, Murph does not identify as a pure country artist. “I think that’s why I was a little shocked because it’s a mix of a bunch of different things. It’s mostly just the stuff I grew up listening to. I’m from Alabama, so I heard a lot of country growing up, but I also heard a lot of rap and a lot of pop and all this stuff. So it’s just a culmination of all that I’d say,” concluded Murph.

Regardless, Jessie Murph will, without a doubt, have the most memorable entry of the night, as she will likely be the first and last person to bring a pet pig to the ACM red carpet walk.
