Exclusive: MŌRIAH Marries Cultures With “Hasta Mañana,” Releases Full Spanish Version

MŌRIAH, a singer/songwriter, producer, and actress, recently celebrated her Mexican-American heritage with the new song “Hasta Mañana,” a commercial infectious mid-tempo that seamlessly bridges the cultures.

The Los Angeles-area native now lives in Nashville and explained she released “Hasta Mañana” first because many songs use lyrics to blend the cultures through storytelling. But “Hasta Mañana” creatively unites the two worlds with production. As an artist and producer, she hears the music before she listens to the words.

“‘Hasta Mañana,’ production-wise, expressed a beautiful marriage between the mariachi musicians we tracked in El Paso and the session players here in Nashville,” she said. “It’s the perfect example of us literally just bringing two worlds together.”

Today (November 1), MŌRIAH released a full Spanish version of “Hasta Mañana.”

“Hasta Mañana,” translated to English, means “until tomorrow.” Produced by Paul Mabury and co-written with Mabury and Paul Duncan, MŌRIAH said the song reflects the two worlds that live inside her and many other second and third-generation Mexican-Americans.

While the English-speaking country music market widely embraced the original, she wanted to ensure the song reached Spanish-speaking music lovers, too.

MŌRIAH: “There’s Such Power in Language”

She explained that because of how music is distributed, the English version of “Hasta Mañana” was serviced to a specific demographic. The streaming services put MŌRIAH on impressive country editorial playlists. As thankful as she is for being accepted into the country space, she realized that her potential Spanish-speaking audience may never hear the song. So, she recorded her new Spanish version of “Hasta Mañana” to reach them.

“It’s going to be pushed out to a primarily Spanish-speaking audience,” she said, “To me, it’s just one more way to bring people together. If you hear the Spanish version, maybe just, maybe you’ll click on ‘Who’s MŌRIAH,’ and then you’ll see, ‘Oh, there’s an English version.’ I have so many friends and family members who have learned English through music and TV shows.”

“Hasta Mañana” is the debut song from MŌRIAH’s 2025 album. She hopes she’ll be able to have a Spanish version of all of her songs.

“There’s such power to language,” she said. “I think that when you start to speak another person’s language, it’s the beginnings of getting into their shoes, it’s the beginning of empathy.”

When MŌRIAH isn’t performing on stage or recording new music in a studio, there’s a good chance she’s on a film or television set. She recently portrayed singer Loyce Whiteman in a Ronald Reagan biopic alongside Dennis Quaid. She made her theatrical debut in Journey to Bethlehem, a cinematic musical starring Antonio Banderas, which premiered worldwide in November 2023. Currently, she plays Bathsheba in the television series The Chosen.
