Holding titles like singer, songwriter, record producer, and record executive, Smokey Robinson embraced every aspect of the music industry. Helping form the Motown group the Miracles, the singer was part of the group for almost two decades, but eventually left to focus more on his role as the Vice President at Motown Records. Having landed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Robinson recently found himself in legal trouble when four women accused the music legend of sexual assault and even rape.

On Tuesday, a complaint filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court suggested that Robinson created a hostile work environment that led to assault, false imprisonment, gender violence, and sexual battery. The lawsuit went beyond just Robinson as it also named his wife, Frances Robinson. One of the women claimed that Frances knew of the sexual misconduct and failed to take any action against her husband. The woman added that the first incident took place back in March 2023 when Robinson sexually assaulted her.
Smokey Robinson Supposedly “Raped” Victim “20 Times”
Another woman in the complaint added her story, writing that she worked for Robinson from 2014 to 2020. During that time, she was also a victim of the singer’s advances of sexual harassment. A third woman spent nearly 12 years working for Robinson and just like the other females, was forced to resign after he “raped” her “at least 20 times.”
The final victim to step forward was yet another housekeeper who started to work for Robinson back in 2006. She stayed until just last year. And like the others, she fell victim to sexual assault and harassment that first started in 2007.
While staying silent on the matter for now, Robinson faces a plethora of accusations that could cripple his career in the music industry. As for the victims, they wanted $50 million in damages for their pain and suffering at the hands of the record executive.
With some serious accusations hurled at Robinson, the music legend and his wife have yet to give a statement. But already having four victims step forward, Robinson is sure to find himself in court in the near future.
