The 90-year-old Frankie Valli has been in music since his 1960 debut with The Four Seasons. That being so, the public is surprised to see him continue to perform. Well, he is, and despite his age, he is still doing it at a very consistent rate. Some are thrilled by this, and others are downright disgusted.

The disgust surrounding Valli’s ongoing music career comes from numerous videos released in 2024 that show Valli as frail, lethargic, and weathered by age. That said, many people believe certain parties are forcing Valli to perform, thus, committing elder abuse. These claims have been circling the internet for a few days now, and Frankie Valli has finally put a stop to the hearsay by commenting on the matter.
The Elder Abuse Rumors
In addition to the numerous videos showing Valli in a rather fragile state, the elder abuse rumors reportedly derive from one X post. The post in question states, “Whoever keeps sending Frankie Valli out on stage at this point is committing elder abuse.” Posted on September 29, the post has garnered 2.2 million views, 23 thousand likes, and 1.9 thousand reposts.
Needless to say, the comment has caught fire and many other users agree with the claim. As another user stated, “I’m absolutely sure that someone is afraid they are going to lose a ton of $$ not sending him out on that stage. Awful.” The comments have acquired enough attention and have left Valli to do on thing—respond.
Frankie Valli’s Response
On Monday, September 30, Valli shared a comment exclusively with People in which he debunked all rumors regarding the elder abuse claim. Valli stated, “I am blessed to be 90 years old and still be doing what I love to do” and “As long as I am able, and audiences want to come see me, I am going to be out there performing as I always. I absolutely love what I do”
He closed out his statement by reinforcing his prior claim. Telling People, “I get a chuckle from the comments wondering if someone forcing me to go on stage” and “Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do.” Well, according to Valli, the rumor is false. Given that it’s straight from the source it might be fair to believe these claims were merely internet banter. Regardless, it’s nice to see that Frankie Valli is still so appreciative of his vocation at such an age.
