Coming off of an electric medley performance at the CMA Awards last week, Shaboozey was likely well-prepared to take on the halftime show. While he didn’t win either of his nominations at the CMAs, he still has had a major year with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and his third album release. He’s closing out 2024 on a definite high note.
Shaboozey Put On a High-Energy Halftime Show in Detroit
The rising country star opened up the show with his hit song “Last of My Kind.” From there, he broke into a quick rendition of “Highway” before giving fans the song they were all waiting for—”A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

Performing in front of background dancers dressed in bell-bottoms and cowboy hats, Shaboozey gave fans the authentic country performance they were hoping for this Thanksgiving. With viewers singing his praise across social media, one fan tweeted “They gave Shaboozey a real stage this year and this is probably the best Lions Thanksgiving halftime show in years.”
Previously, Shaboozey addressed his involvement in the halftime show, sharing his excitement for the opportunity. “Thanksgiving football is an iconic tradition in this country, and I’m hyped to be a part of it this year,” he said, per a report from Billboard. “The Detroit Lions season has been pretty epic so far, and I’m excited to tap into that crazy energy their fans bring to Ford Field. I can’t wait for America to see the show we’ve been working on for y’all.”
As for his song of the summer, fans will likely want to hear it for the rest of his career. It’s a good thing he seems to like it, though. Earlier this month, he spoke about “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” as something that was “missing” from music lately.
“I think it’s just a song that really was missing in music,” he said during an interview with Gayle King. “Just something that really makes you feel, just happy.”
