Kid Rock, Village People, and More Will Perform Today

On the eve of his presidential inauguration, Donald Trump welcomed supporters to Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena Sunday (Jan. 19) for the Make America Great Again victory rally.

Ardent Trump supporter Kid Rock is just one of the musical acts who took the stage during today’s event. The “Cowboy” singer (born Bob Ritchie) wrote on social media that he was looking forward to performing for “WE THE PEOPLE.”

Legendary disco group Village People also performed their signature song, “Y.M.C.A.” The 1978 hit became synonymous with the president-elect on the campaign trail, as he was often filmed dancing to it at rallies.

Country singers Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood rounded out the lineup, along with the Liberty University’s Praise Choir. Cyrus is best known for his chart-topping 1992 single “Achy Breaky Heart.” Lee Greenwood delivered a rendition of his 1984 hit “God Bless the USA,” which he has performed for several presidents.

Jason Aldean Will Take the Stage at Tomorrow’s Liberty Ball

Greenwood will reprise his performance during Monday’s (Jan. 20) official swearing-in ceremony. Additionally, American Idol judge Carrie Underwood will sing “America the Beautiful” ahead of Trump’s inauguration, with opera singer Christopher Macchio delivering the national anthem.

The Village People will return to the stage during Monday’s Liberty Ball. That’s where Jason Aldean is also set to perform. The “Try That in a Small Town” singer has been vocal about his support for Trump for years.

Two other events, the Commander-in-Chief Ball and the Starlight Ball, are scheduled for Monday. Country star Parker McCollum and trio Rascal Flatts will perform at the former. Gavin DeGraw, best known for his 2004 hit “I Don’t Want To Be,” has been announced as performing at the Starlight Ball.
