While celebrating her ongoing career with a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Kelly Clarkson announced she needed to postpone her show throughout August. Having a few shows scheduled throughout the month, the American Idol winner revealed that a family emergency surrounding her children and her former husband caused her to make the tough decision.

Sharing the news on social media, Clarkson wrote that the sudden decision came after her former husband, Brandon Blackstock, struggled with ongoing health issues. “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
Although making the right decision for her family, Clarkson apologized to fans who purchased tickets for the August shows. “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
When Will Kelly Clarkson Return To Las Vegas?
For those who purchased tickets to the show, Caesars Colosseum stated that fans could keep their tickets and use them for one of Clarkson’s 2026 shows. Knowing that not every person would be able to make the shows next year, they granted a 30-day period for ticket holders to request a full refund.
Looking ahead to Clarkson’s schedule, the “Stronger” singer will return to Las Vegas for another run of shows starting in November.
First marrying Blackstock back in 2013, the couple welcomed two kids, River and Remington. Both Clarkson and Blackstock eventually separated in 2020, with their divorce finalized in 2022. Just a year after her divorce, the singer channeled her feelings into her newest album, Chemistry.
Discussing how the album helped guide her through the experience, Clarkson insisted, “I cannot express how appreciative I feel for having that kind of healthy outlet. Because the level of depression and things that come with divorce or grieving is extraordinarily hard.” She continued, “It’s just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming.”
As Clarkson prioritized her family during this difficult time, fans continued to stand by her with unwavering support and understanding.
