Kelly Clarkson ended her show on a high note—literally. The final episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show aired on Aug. 31, and included on final Kellyoke performance.
For Clarkson’s last-ever cover, she opted to sing “Golden” from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack. The American Idol winner sang both the English and Korean lyrics in the hit song, and hit high notes that even impressed herself.

“That’s a high song!” Clarkson remarked as she watched the pre-taped performance with the audience.
What to Know About the Final Episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show
Afterwards, Clarkson told the studio crowd, “We’ve done over 1,000 Kellyokes… A lot of people have asked—including my mom—why haven’t we done a full hour dedicated to my catalog? Well, guess what? It’s happening right now.”
What followed was “Kelly By Request,” where the studio audience got to ask Clarkson to perform their favorite songs from her catalog.
“The Kellyoke that we played, ‘Golden,’ was the most requested Kellyoke we ever had, so Kelly knew she wanted to put it in the last episode,” executive producer Alex Duda told USA Today. “That’s why we built the whole episode around ‘By Request.’ We knew that’s going to be positive; we won’t be sad. We’ll be happy because it’ll be a Kelly Clarkson concert, basically.”
Speaking to People, Duda added, “We just tried to make it be a celebration, especially that last episode, tried to make that be for the fans and help them help us say goodbye.”
“And for seven years, we listened to them like, ‘What songs did you want to hear and what moments did you want to see again?’” he continued. “So it seemed like the right thing to do was to do a whole show that was by request.”
Clarkson’s show concluded after a seven season run. The decision was announced in February, with Clarkson citing a want to spend more time with her children.
As for what made the show great, Duda told the second outlet, “She’s a mood shifter in the room. And if we could do that for everybody at home, then we’ve accomplished something.”
