Written by James McNair, Lindsay Rhimes, and Emily Weisband, “Love You Back” kicks things back to Lady A’s classic sound. According to a release, the track captures “the relatable concept that while memories of a previous relationship can act as a comforting time capsule, they can also prevent one from healing.”

A memory can’t kiss you outside of your mama’s house / Midnight rain on a Chevy hood / A memory can’t hold you in a Sarasota sunrise / Even though you wish it would / All it’s gonna do is make you lose sleep at night / Wake up and leave you in the past / You can love a memory / But a memory can’t love you back, the lyrics read.

“When we first heard ‘Love You Back,’ we knew immediately it was such a great fit for us,” the band shared in a statement. “Heartbreak is something almost everyone has experienced and this song describes that experience in a whole new way. We’ve loved seeing how fans react to the song and to now share the official version with everyone is really special!”

Lady A is set to perform the newly released song on TODAY this Tuesday, September 26. The TV appearance comes in the middle of Lady A’s current Request Line Tour.

“We are so excited,” Charles Kelley said at the tour kick-off. “We’ve been thinking about this tour for quite some time and for some reason, we had to delay it just a little bit. But I can tell you it was well worth the wait because of the heart that we’re putting into this now. I feel like this is the most proud I’ve ever been of us as a band. We’ve been a band for 17 years.”

The group has dates spread across the remainder of the year. Check out their tour dates, HERE. Along with the song, the band has shared an accompanying lyric video for the track. Check that out, below.
